KeymasterHappy last hours of 2024 to you all!
I’m using this ‘quiet week’ to play catchup on some overdue items on my to-do list, and the TOP of that list is letting you all know where we’re heading in just 5 short weeks for your Capstone experience! As intimated earlier, we are indeed getting “closer” to the ‘mothership’ of A&M for your graduation capstone session — we’ll be meeting in HOUSTON, TX (a city far easier to fly into than College Station!)
As you may know – Houston is enormous and serviced by two airports – the much larger IAH (George Bush Intercontinental Airport) on the north side (30 mins from downtown if traffic cooperates) and HOU – Houston Hobby Airport on the south side (20 mins from downtown). Depending on your airline of preference (IAH is enormous vs. HOU is more boutique – serviced by Southwest, Delta, JetBlue and American), that will likely dictate which airport you’ll use. We can handle transportation to/from both. Our hotel is the WHITEHALL hotel, right in the middle of downtown.
FOR YOUR TRAVEL PLANNING: the session kicks off 12:30 on Weds Feb 5th and we’ll be done and out the door at 11:30 on Friday Feb 7th. (Some of you may be headed off to tropical post-graduation celebration vacations … ?)
Curriculum agenda is being finalized and will be shared early in the new year — but a quick overview: we are bringing Tom Doll back for the “next steps” on Operational Integration curriculum and Charlie will focus on Change Management, but YOU and your Capstone presentations are definitely the “star of the show” … and you’ll have some time to rehearse and refine your presentations on the afternoon of Weds 2/5, before your presentations on 2/6 (and graduation that evening!).
For those of you planning ahead, your WRITTEN SUMMARIES are due THURSDAY JAN 30th to give our judges time to review / grade.
Please drop your flight info in here when you have it: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1O4skyGSODTIuVgMU09QPXr_NYCC4g2jtRDcjSK8xSLY/edit?usp=sharing
Wishing you all a restful and rejuvenating end to 2024 … and a bright start to 2025!

KeymasterI know you’ll ALL sleep better this weekend having submitted your written summaries! KUDOS! (I know, now you’re working on your powerpoints. Remember “a picture is worth 1000 words” – use images to prompt you to “tell your story.” Just FYI – when you’re DONE with the .PPT creation – *after* you’ve done your ‘peer review’ rehearsal/refinement on Weds … then you’ll pass a copy of the file over to us Thursday am, and you’ll all be presenting from Charlie’s computer.)
For travel on TUESDAY — your towncar services have been reserved with ALLSTAR HOUSTON. When you land, follow signs near baggage claim leading to CHAUFFEURS/LIMOS. Your chauffeur will hold a tablet with your name. You will receive text messages prior to the arrival alerting you of the waiting chauffeurs name who will also monitor/track your flight status. If you don’t see your driver, call (281)254-1718.
(Note: Ian, Wes and Tom Doll are all on the same Alaska flight out of Seattle, so you three will be in the same SUV.) The rest of you have your own situations.
Rest up, enjoy the weekend and we’re looking forward to celebration the “end of this first part of your EAGL journey” next week!
* (We’ll miss you, Brad – and you’ll ALWAYS be a “Nu”, but we completely understand where your focus needs to be right now! We’ll catch ya in ’26. May 2025 bring your family stability and healing!)
